by Markus Eck (20.01.2006) One of the most interesting bands over the last years comes in shape of this quintet from Atlanta/Georgia. Skilfully composed, technical and explosive death metal greatly enriched with all sorts of influences from progressive and thrash metal as well as grind and metal core. Don't worry, the resulting, highly melodic music is still very homogenous. And that Becoming The Archetype have devoted to Christian views dilapidates in face of the enchanting, raw power and the quality of their high-carat material. The whole album is a marks shaking proof for the extensive abilities of the band that found their style that couldn't be compared to that of any other band. Speciality of this very recommendable newcomer is the absolutely perfectly woven in acoustic guitar- and keyboard tracks among the brutal attacks; often a graceful, rest-inviting break.
