by Emrah Kilic (13.04.2007) After the anniversary release, "Score - 20th Anniversary World Tour", the New Yorker may have a new label in their back (Roadrunner Records), but, of course, that doesn't change their (limitless) musical idea. Also "Systematic chaos" features all known Dream Theater trademarks. The quintet increased the heaviness again, yet, at the same time, the dramatic moments have more space, too. Accordingly, the numerous stirring melodies cause you shivers down the spine. Of course, through the 78 minutes, guitarist John Petrucci and keyboardist Jordan Rudess may solo their soul out in the instrumental-passages just like we've come to know it - this only underpins what exceptional musicians these guys in Dream Theater are. Three of the eight songs extend the ten-minute mark, a commercial single, however, cannot be found. So, the fans can look forward to a multi-layered, convincing and always thrilling album!
