by Oliver Kube (14.07.2008) Regarding importance and popularity, the "Sweden Rock Festival" is the Scandinavian counterpart to the German "Wacken Open Air", the Swedes leaning more towards hardrock, although the audience can take in a considerable number of pure metal acts annually in the village of SΓΆlvesborg. Established in1992, the party has evolved into a four-day mega event: 2008, not only bands like Judas Priest, Poison, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Testament, Disturbed and Triumph (!) showed up, but far more than 30 000 visitors from all over the world, too. This double dvd features professionally filmed highlights from 2005 and 2006 - with first class sound. Footage includes: 39 songs of old school stars like MotΓΆrhead, Saxon, Molly Hatchet, Magnum, Alice Cooper, Status Quo and Venom, but you’ll also find newer bands Γ  la Edguy, Morgana Lefay, Behemoth and Kamelot. The reunion performances of such acts like Blackfoot, Helix, Treat, Diamond Head or Vixen should be also extremely interesting.
