by Oliver Kube (20.04.2009) This Canadian band, established 23 years ago, is among the most politically active Punk outfits ever. In spite of this, they never forgot the music and always gave their all when entering the studio, and their fifth longplayer (by the way, the first which is is not released on NOFX-Fat Mike's private label Fat Wreck) is no exception to that. "Supporting caste" offers a highly energetic mixture of classic US Punk ("Incalculable effects"), crispy Metal ("Without love"), and melodic Post-Hardcore ("Humane meat", including a great guitar solo!), which points slightly in the direction of Rise Against in its most modern moments. A real surprise: the hidden bonus track, being an enthusiastic, very entertaining cover version of the 70s classic "Come to the Sabbat" by English Psychedelic-/Progressive Rockers Black Widow (don't take it too serious). Great stuff!
