by Markus Eck (23.03.2007) With "Strange rumours … distant tremors", Kromlek finally release their debut-album, for which they re-recorded and re-arranged chosen compositions of "Kveldridhur". It is striking that the former possession that was so abnormally frenetically celebrated was reduced a bit by the playful outfit. Instead, the new songs sound more sovereign, matured and more structured. Still, the Germans around the vocally versatile and charismatic mic-troll, Alphavarg, absolutely stick to their stylistic line. Their highly melodic warrior sound is still very anthemnic and delightfully playful. The lyrics are in German, English and Swedish, so much variation on this field, too. Here and there, exciting Humppa-elements enrich the sound making this Heathen work not only intense and haunting all over but invites you to dance, drink and celebrate, too.
