Excellent Service

"Stormchaser" is one of those albums that leaves you gobsmacked and just blows your head away with rage and aggression. Fantastic, often melodic and thoroughly groovy Death Metal from Bay Area with Metalcore influences.

    Self portrait

by Markus Wosgien (29.01.2009) So far, this quintet from the Bay Area has just been known to some insiders, but this will change now because Light The City are on the verge of their international breakthrough with their brand-new fourth opus "Stormchaser". The terrific cover artwork by Kristian Wahlin (Dissection, Emperor and many more) whets your appetite - you open the case, and the content of this package is 12 delicious tracks. Melodic Death Metal with female vocals (versed: Laura Nichol) which can be described best as a mixture of early In Flames, Arch Enemy, and All Shall Perish, spiced up with some chunks of Metalcore (provided last but not least by the brunette’s gravelly voice). This is all one brutal flak attack - some beautiful melodies manage to emerge from the ongoing battle, though. A highlight: speedy "Firehaven" - Testament’s Chuck Billy joins the San Francisco gang and turns this song into a future classic.
