by Markus Wosgien (07/02) Some of you might have noticed the song "Bother" by Stone Sour featured on the Spider Man OST. A refreshing mixture of Modern Rock and certain Nu Metal influences, which is no surprise since two Stone Sour members are also employed by Slipknot- Corey Taylor behind the mic and Jim Root on guitar. The sound is straight, rocks and grooves. The band itself describes it's sound as a mixture of Metallica meets Alice in Chains, which is pretty accurate although Taylor tends to scream a bit more thereby creating a colorful atmosphere. 16 refreshing and timeless tracks have found their way on the disc. Seems that the band wants to let off steam which the listener will easily adopt. Open-minded Slipknot fans as well as those who like a modern, heavy and fat sound should feel advised to buy this great debut. (Markus Wosgien)
