by Andreas Reissnauer (October 2005) Hard to believe but "Songs for the sinners" is really already the fifth album for the Finns. In their home country, they are stars and charted several times in the top 10. In Germany, you could only see some smaller success, yet. A fact that the new album could in fact be changing because for one it is less sleepy but ignited some great fires under their Gothic Metal, for the other Sentenced have ended which makes Charon a true alternative for those who don't want to miss deep melancholic, sad and still powerful music form the land of the 1,000 seas. Musically, there are quite some parallels, and also singer, J-P LeppΓ€luoto has a big portion of charisma equalling that of Sentenced-singer, Ville. Charon are another proof of quality Gothic Metal made in Finland. Check it out! (Andreas Reissnauer - October 2005)
