by Jürgen Tschamler (null) The new Gamma Ray line-up presents us their fifth album "Somewhere out in space". A conceptalbum with reference to the movie "2001-Odysee in space". Alltogether you find 15 tracks with a really fat and clean production. The opener "Beyond the black hole" already shows you what to expect: high tempo throughout, clear melodies, superb vocals - in brief: finest metal!Same with "Men, martians and machines" (in my opinion the best song on the album) and "Prey", bombastic metal full of musicality! Everything sounds fresh and original. But Gamma Ray also hold a ballad in store with "The winged horse". This album even tops the magnificent "Land of the free"! True Metal is still alive!
