1.Making of solo (DVD)
by Oliver Kube (22.10.2008) He was the fronter of successful German Dark Wave band Wolfsheim for almost 20 years and guest singer in well-known productions of Joachim Witt ("Die Flut"), Schiller ("Dream of you") or Paul Van Dyk ("Wir sind wir") - and now, one of Germanyβs most characteristic voices finally dares to go solo. Producers JosΓ© Γlvarez-Brill (Wolfsheim, De/Vision, Xandria) and Peter-John Vettese (Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds) helped to forge this album - the result is an immensely versatile yet at the same time "typical Heppner" output. The single "Alleinesein" is totally danceable, but thereβs also some withdrawn stuff Γ la "Easy", melancholy epic tracks like "Suddenly", complex compositions (check out "Walter" and "I hate you") - altogether, they make for a homogenous album. Regarding lyrics, Heppner goes deep, and often is very outspoken: "No matter what it takes" and "Being me" are his most intense songs so far. Wolfsheim followers will enjoy this album, but fans of intelligent, sometimes dark sounds will also love it.
