Psychopunch one of the few constants in the snot-rock scene. Also on their fifth album, the four nice Swedes hammer down their compositions with power and without any commercial attitude. Under supervision of Thomas Skogsberg (Hellacopters, Entombed, Backyard Babies...) they rocked down 13 first-class, edgy but charming tracks that further enhances the name of Psychopunch. JM's vocals sound rougher, more whiskey-stamped than on the predecessors and perfectly adds to the mid-tempo tracks. The tracks more or less suit the punk attitude, and speedy hymns, like "Ain't no turnarounds", "Nothing never dies" or "A powerful brand" underpin that. The band manages perfectly to add their edgy punk'n'rock attitude with some catchy melodies: one of the strengths of the band which feels really at home when they're on stage. "Smashed on arrival" should finally provide Psychopunch with the deserved breakthrough for more ass kicking ain't possible. Psychopunch are exactly this kind of gutter animal that we love to take up in our Rock'n'Roll hearts. Perfect! (JΓΌrgen Tschamler - April 2004)
