by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (15.05.2009) When Chris Barnes was hired as singer for their second album "Swarm!", it was somehow predictable that the union wouldn't last forever: as with Vital Remains and Glen Benton, the liaison was only good for the studio - on stage, the Six Feet Under dreadie had to be replaced by Juri Sallinen anyway. Musically, the Finns don't need this kind of promotion via guest star performances. Barnes' main band has released several so-so outputs in the meantime - whereas Torture Killer have thrown three smashers in a row on the market. On "Swarm!", they emphasised the Finnish Death Metal touch in their groovy mid-tempo sound (together with some Six Feet Under / Bolt Thrower references) - ok, that's a Must when you have two Demigod members in the line-up. This time, they have neglected that nuance a bit unfortunately... But still, you'll get eight brilliant songs, plus an awesome cover artwork by Gore master Jon Zig. The tour with Swedish Death squadrons Facebreaker and Demonical will be a bloody feast.
