In Extremo - Ansichten einer Band

by Markus Wosgien (03.02.2009) This In Extremo release is an acoustical one – so it’s a kind of "back to the roots" experience for the band. In October 2008, the Medieval Rock stars presented their number one album "Sängerkrieg" in the German radio station RBB/Radio Fritz in front of a selected audience. The set is one hour long and includes catchy songs like "Sieben Köche" or "Frei zu sein", but also classics à la "Küss mich" and "Vollmond". The atmosphere is intoxicating – there’s magic and almost palpable excitement in the air. Apart from the twelve live songs, you’ll also find "Requiem" and "En esta noche" – in a modified piano version adequate for the concept of this output. To top it off, this nice digipak contains a bonus DVD featuring a documentary "In Extremo - Ansichten einer Band" – an exciting retrospective of the early days of the combo, their surrounding, and their present success. An incredible story, summarized in 45 minutes – almost like a modern fairy tale.
