It's been five years since the New Yorkers, Pro-Pain toured Germany in support of the Böhsen Onkelz. What the band around singer Gary Meskil remembered best of those days was the Onkelz-song, "Terpentin", which is now - sung in German! - the centre of their cover-song album, "Run for Cover". The rest of the album concentrates on bands like Slayer ("South Of Heaven"), Motörhead ("Iron Fist") or Celtic Frost and builds the bridge to punk-oriented compositions by Discharge, Negative Approach, Operation Ivy, Black Flag or Agnostic Front. It also presents a track of Meskil's former band Crumbsuckers as well as a hot version of Life Of Agony's "Weed". A total of 14 songs proving that Pro-Pain are still able to look beyond the genre frontiers. "Run For Cover" has dynamics and humour - what a great mixture! (Matthias Mineur - 03/07)
