by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (24.07.2009) First, it was a job - now, it’s a profession! These hectic eruptive jack-in-the-boxes are constantly on the road, holding up the flag of a new Extreme Metal generation. If Venom had known that their "invention" would sound like this 30 years after "Welcome to hell", they would have split much sooner - and for good. But among the nerve-wrecking, eruptive, aggressive material, Job For A Cowboy's second album does have some relatively catchy moments - check out the marching part à la Slayer in the last third of "Summon the hounds". Regarding extremity, this band has already left their label mates Cattle Decapitation and Brutal Death Metal veterans Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation far behind. Even Mr. Evil himself, Glen Benton, would have winced at that vocal effect at the end of "Regurgitated disinformation"…
