by Jürgen Tschamler (12.04.2007) The U.S. state, North Carolina, has not yet been known as one of the most important birthplaces for interesting newcomers. The quartet, Sanctity, is now up for changing that. Having released two EPs so far, their album "Road to bloodshed" could well be the kick off for an internationally successful career. Helping them out is Megadeth's Dave Mustaine who is a declared die-hard fan of the band. Furthermore, Trivium-frontman Matthew K. Heafy outed himself as the band's mentor. Influenced by Pantera, Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer, they combine their sound with the new school attributes of Killswitch Engage and Trivium. Sanctity stands for brute and modern Metal dominated by driving forward Thrash-parts - consequently, comparisons to the mentioned bands will be heard everywhere. "Beloved killer", e.g. immediately reminds me of Slayer, and "Zeppo" is an incredible old scholl killer. Sure, this has all been there before but these four guys have so much energy and vigor that "Road to bloodshed" turns out to be a Metal-firework!
