After they started big with their debut "Ten" and the follow up, "Vs" in the early 90s, the gods of Grunge even for fans became less and less accessible with albums, like "Vitalogy" (1994) and "No Code" (1996). Only "Binaural", released two years ago showed Pearl Jam back on track again, their new album "Riot Act" should finally re-establish them at the top of the scene. The introverted single, "I Am Mine" shows the - vocally and lyrically - best Eddie Vedder ever, and with "You Are", drummer Matt Cameron has composed a song that would have even been a highlight on U2¦s "Achtung, Baby" album. The dreamy "Thumbing My Way" homogenously integrates an organ and Spanish guitars, while the quintet proves with the 50s-oriented "Wanted To Get Right" and the witty-bitty "Bush Leaguer" that they haven¦t forgotten their aggressive side either. The two Blues rockers, "Half Full" and "All Or None", the slightly nervous "Crop Duster" as well as the melancholic "Love Boat Captain" are further heydays of an album with the total of 15 top tracks introducing the big comeback of the Seattle-quintet.
