by Jürgen Tschamler (10.01.2007) The Ohio-sextet impressively proves on their new album that they definitely belong to the top line in Metalcore, respectively NWOAHM. The 13 extremely well produced tracks hit you like a splitter bomb. Monster riffs, phat mosh parts and deadly vocals combine for a monstrous power mix that doesn't need to hide for the scene leaders like Hatebreed, Terror and Co. That this band still sounds but one-sided show songs like "Six", with its Iron Maiden-like beginning, or the highspeed shell "Worthless". The majority of songs is settled in mid-tempo regions. The machine gun-like riffs and staccato attacks beat bloody breaks into the brain meanders - the axe-duo, Arnold/DeVries is terrific. Mark Hunter is the ideal frontman because he not only provides great and fierce growls, but can also sing very hard. With this album Chimaira is definitely catapulted into the premier league, because a Metal killer like "Resurrection" will be hard to top this year!
