by Thomas Clausen (07.01.2008) Already two years ago, the Metalcore shooting stars discovered by Mudvayne-frontman, Chad Gray, proved with their debut album that you have to have the New Yorkers as one of the big names on your list. With their sophomore effort, Bloodsimple now confirm their place in the premier league. Not only extensive tours with Alice In Chains and Slayer could leave their marks on ex-Vision Of Disorder frontman, Tim Williams, and his fellows – for the album title, "Red harvest", they were inspired by the thriller of the same name written by Dashiell Hammett in 1929, whose legendary namesake from Metallica-fame put his unconscious sound-stamp on new killer songs, such as "Dark helmet" and "Death from above". Also for the rest, Bloodsimple have a lot to offer: with the insistent, powerful The Doors-tribute, "Ride with me" and "Whiskey bent and hellbound", Williams should finally become the new Metal-Morrison, while with the dynamically rocking "Dead man walking" will declare complete headbanger dancefloors as danger zones. Big art for your brain and for your hairs.
