by Andreas Reissnauer (19.01.2007) No, Rebel Meets Rebel is not a new band but rather the heir of Pantera-legend, Dimebag Darrell. In the years before his death, Dime together with his brother Vinnie Paul (drums), Rex Brown (bass) and David Allan Coe (vocals) worked on the fusion of Metal and Country. Now, the result of this collaboration is being released, and once you've become acquainted with Coe's vocals that might be a bit unusual for Rock-proven ears, you'll be blasted by an enormous amount of creativity. Dime's leads are still unmistakable and it's just great to posthumously be enjoying some of his salves. But also the song writing is catchy, groovy and simply great. First of all, this is a combination of Metal, Southern Rock and Rock'n'Roll. Country elements are only casual. If you want to taste this melange or just want to listen to one of the best Metal guitarists ever, check out this album!
