Article description

The fourth God Dethroned opus "Ravenous" which is dedicated to Aleister Crowley combines the best of the early US Death Metal and the more melodic Swedish Death Metal. Covers songs of Death and God Macabre even emphasize this apart from the own compositions.

    Evil dead

by Eugen Legat (01/01) Merciless driven by their American temporary drummer Tony Laureano, God Γ¬ Dethroned fight their way as if the heavenly father would not long being Γ¬ pushed off his golden horse. An angry-scornful film-sample and the hell-like Γ¬ inferno can being. Beginning ast and brutal, the structure of the opener Γ¬ "Swallow the spikes" suddenly reveals an unexpected change and ends after Γ¬ the harmonic crafted solo-part and only indicates the main riff. Also "The Γ¬ poison apple" offers controversial elements, while "Villa vampiria" should Γ¬ become a highlight during the concerts delivering throttled tempo and a Γ¬ catchy refrain. A true declaration for Death Metal is hidden not only in the Γ¬ saw shaven version of "Evil dead" but also in the dusted and re-arranged Γ¬ Macabre End Song. Together with the beginning of "The iconoclast deathride" Γ¬ reminding me strongly of Gehenna, the resting pole in this battle scene. Γ¬ (Eugen Legat 01/01)
