by Markus Eck (04.10.2006) The high level all through the wonderful predecessor album as well as its unique artistic note was obviously too high to reach with this new album. Nevertheless, also with "Raven flight" Nomans Land deliver an excellent album. The album features less heroic clear vocals, a definite strength of the former war songs. Bitter grim vocals dominate now. Also other usual composition habits of their European genre colleagues were adjusted. The beloved band lost a bit of its unique note by letting themselves inspire massively of Scandinavian hordes. With this slightly modified musical direction, the Russians gained international standard. I can only hope that Nomans Land will now earn the adequate international success, too, because obviously, for many fans of this genre they had been too far away from the average sound.
