Although Β»Dark black makeupΒ« is the debut album of the trio, the band members are anything but newcomers. They toured everything to pieces for five years now. For the record, Radkey went to the McCall Sound Studios in Sheffield, where they worked on the album with producer Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys, The Fall, Jarvis Cocker, a.o.). The result is a glowing punk oeuvre with 13 tracks that impressively demonstrate the bandβs ability to combine stadium suited guitar riffs with addictive pop melodies. The vocals remind us positively of the young Glenn Danzig.
