by Jürgen Tschamler (07/99) Which pleasent-sounding changes have been taking place inbetween the walls of Dark Tranquility? No more standarized Swedish death but back to the roots of trash metal in combination with smooth, groovy, harmonic guitar duels. Trash'n'roll might be the adequate description for this wonderful album which doesn't loose it's fascination even after the 10th listen-through. The pieces are rich and seem very well thought-through in terms of heavyness as well as harmonies. There are no highlights on the CD the whole CD is a highlight! Normally, I'm not a big fan of this whole death/trash armada which is invading Europe at the moment but D.T. go their own way and differ from the average bands to a really great extent since they learned how to write good songs by now! This album gives you the possibility to log in whereever you want. "Day to end", "Thereln", "Dobermann"...quality in each second. Not only for the typical mosh-face but also for the demanding metal fan. Thank you!
