by Eugen Legat (03/10) The shivering which the listener is overcome by due to the obscure, slow intro perfectly matches the fantastic horror cover. The Crown are THE band of the moment, so it seems. At least in two dimensions nobody could live up to them: high-energy earcandy en masse and metal clichΓ©s. Two categories nobody should try to compete in with this Finnish chaos troop. In three chapters the Crown goes citing metal history - no matter if song titles or compositions, yet without sounding embarrassing or like thieves. While the last album with Tompa on vocals was still strongly in the manner of the first two records under the name of Crown of Thorns this effect was even strengthened by the use of really old riffs, yet the Rock'n'Roll base remained despite all heaviness. Full speed with some short breaks and a slow final ("Dawn of emptiness"). A smashhit!
