by Jürgen Tschamler (21.04.2008) The Norwegian trio releases the third album. For since the masterpiece, "Waves of visual decay" is has been already two years now. On "Payment of existence", the Norwegians have again comprised their style and as the topping on the ice have become more melodic in a certain way which e.g. reflects in the choruses where they have a lot more to offer than in the past. My first impression of "Payment of existence" was: less complex, less intricate but more catchy and easier accessible. Yet, after some listening sessions it becomes clear that neither the fast, deadly riff attacks have been reduced nor the progressive share in the song writing; only the proportion of harmonies has been increased. In killers, like "The abandoned one" and the superb title track full of variations, this is greatly set to scene. Role model Power Metal riffs with often almighty complexity meet murderer time changes changing between groovy and galloping.
