by Markus Eck (29.03.2010) 2004, the first album of this versatile artist was released, simply titled "Auf der Maur". The Canadian has become known for being the bassist of Hole in the mid-nineties and famous for her being part of the Smashing Pumpkin line-up. Now, Melissa (who has also been working a s a photographer for quite a while) delivers her second solo thing "Out of our minds", containing some unusual guitar parts and extremely emotional Rock songs with an Indie touch, but in spite of the plethora of influences, the whole thing is very dynamic and homogenous. Even all those psychedelic nuances are a perfect fit for the complete impression. "Father’s grave" is a duet with legendary Dark Rock star Glenn Danzig. This album is meant to be one part of a whole concept which also comprises a short film, a comic book, various live performances and gallery exhibitions.
