Excellent Service

All re-released Amon Amarth digipaks from the debut up to "Versus the World" form a live motif when opened up and laid next to each other. After the magnificent MCD "Sorrow throughout the Nine Worlds", this album laid the groundwork for Amon Amarth's future success.

Once Sent From The Golden Hall

by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (29.01.2009) Their early albums are re-released as a double CD including a pop up figure - the legendary first album starts it off, with Martin Lopez (who later joined Opeth) at the drums instead of Frederik Andersson, and the band still being a quartet. The bonus CD will include the complete respective album played live in front of a frenetic audience in a German club at the end of 2008. "Once sent from the golden hall" also includes the German version of the live smasher "Victorious march". Unfortunately, other gems of this killer release won’t be heard any more in the future: "Ride for vengeance", "Without fear", "Friends of the suncross" (which caused some political discussions then - unnecessarily) and the signature anthem "Amon Amarth" represent the crudity of youth, and bristle with energy and terrific melodies. 1997, Peter TΓ€gtgren had to save the foozled production in the once legendary Sunlight studio - hard to believe now, isn’t it?!
