by Benedikt Niederschmid (April 2005) No time to lose for this uprising metalcore formation from Grand Rapids, a little town near Detroit. Counted to two and you are in the middle of something that initially seems like the usual noise that is generally served these days - as fast as posible, fat production, some nice mosh parts and a singer who sings and screams. "Of Love and lunacy" doesn't burst this stylistic frame with the second listening, either, Still Remains are definitively too much children of the moshcore trend, yet still: one has to appreciate the musical depth of this album: composition, performance and production are state-of-the-art. Extreme musical parallels to Killswitch Engage or Atreyu cannot be denied but if you like those two bands you can order this one without a second thought.
