by Holger (null) After the worldwide breakthrough in '95 with their album "Demanufacture", a new breaker is here. With their new album Fear Factory try to satisfy a larger amount of people, and therefore it doesn't sound as brute as the earlier stuff. "Obsolete" still is rock-hard and therefore shows consequence but the tunes are straighter and a bit more commercial. Fear Factory don't allow borders, they entwine various styles and fill the gaps. A cold, hard futuresound is awaiting us, filled with nice melodies carried by Burton's voice. "Ressurrection" is one of my favorite songs on this album. The production that made my blood freeze, was overlooked by Rhys Fulbers (Frontline Assembly,...). "Obsolete" definitely is a milestone!!!
