ALKALOID is still connected by their love for death metal. After all, they are a supergroup consisting of founding members of OBSCURA, DARK FORTRESS, and SPAWN OF POSSESSION. The fiery, finger-tapped solo that crysheightizes after the halfway point of 'Clusterfuck' is crushed like an ant under a Drop-D hammerstorm.
But on 'Numen,' the Bavarian band also play around with all kinds of genre experiments. 'The Cambrian Explosion' turns tech-death upside down with seductive hints of jazz and flamenco.
