by Andreas Reissnauer (13.04.2006) Almost four years after “Volcano“, Satyr and Frost finally return with a new album. It is widely known that Satyr have devoted to a very exclusive form of black metal, and also “Now, diabolical“ is a very unique, original album that has nothing to do with the typical black metal. The songs are almost completely in mid-tempo regions and often present classic rock structures. The title song and “K.i.n.g.“ are two very catchy, yes simple hits that immediately get their hooks in you. Much more gloomy and more negative are the following six songs that may be similarly catchy but still have a completely different character. They are stamped by a nihilist atmosphere that - despite the catchiness of the songs - makes them take some time until you got completely into them. Satyricon are the slightly different black metal band, their songs are of majestic size and radiate a unique aura.
