by Oliver Kube (30.01.2008) The pumping, first single, "Code of the road" made it clear already: under the supervision of the Grammy-winning, Foo Fighters-, Rush-, and Coheed And Cambria-producer, Nick Raskulinecz, the Canadian trio around frontman Danko has no reason to shift back a single gear. Consequently, the fourth album, too, is dominated by top-range, heavy Rock hitters, like, e.g., the powerful, dirty, "Letβs get undressed", the raging title track, the rebel-hymn, "Still in High School" and the easy groover, "King of magazines". Still, the guys from Toronto musically enter some β immensely interesting β new ground: with "Forest for the trees", they skilfully dare a huge epic, despite all bombast, never overloaded or too importunate. Nobody could have expected such an album and it shows that also after twelve years, the band is capable of surprises and challenges. Cool!
