by Oliver Kube (15.07.2010) Super-catchy melodies, a smooth, yet powerful sound, and Jonne Aaron’s melancholic vocals... The result: Negative are a perfect fit for that nice airplay slot in a Rock radio show, surrounded by their peers from HIM (in their early days, that is) and spunky, alternative The Rasmus, all Glam Rock-addicted Finish outfits. If you’ve not yet fallen for the Tampere five, but like the above mentioned combos: this is THE opportunity to complete your Finnish Ear Candy collection! Just listen to "End of the line", "Blood on blood", or "No one can love me tonight"... The only teensy downside of this album (btw, the production was done in L.A.): some of the songs sound a bit similar because speed-wise, most of the material is mid-tempo. But there are enough exceptions to that, for example "Jealous sky", a dreamy ballad which gets a bit rougher during the chorus parts, "Fucking worthless" (very Beatles!), and rrrrrrrrreally fast (at least, for Negative) "Since you’ve been gone". All in all, an excellent display of modern Glam Rock.
