by Andreas Reissnauer (19.07.2007) Does Thrash Metal really have a little revival? Especially in Germany, more and more bands have devoted to this great genre – Abandoned, Perzonal War, Delirious and now also Spellbound, names that at least in the underground could cause some stir already. After "Incoming destiny" the guys from the south of Germany release their second album and – how else could it be – again managed to progress. The influence of the big Bay Area bands like Exodus, Testament and Forbidden, clearly shines through in the riffing. Spellbound is old school Thrash and the guys don't hesitate to incorporate melodic guitar solos. Dave Maier's vocals are raw and rough. A bit more variability would have been nice here, but the guy ain't no disruptive factor, either. Spellbound play Thrash with class and represent perfect entertainment for genre fans.
