by Jürgen Tschamler (12.07.2007) Blood Stain Child return with their fourth album. After the very positively acclaimed predecessor "Idolater", the benchmark is quite high. But the six-piece troop including the statutory woman does a good job and has a convincing follow-up. The Japanese never hide their liking for Scandinavian bands. Consequently, "Mozaiq" represents a fine collection of Scandinavian sounds, of which especially Children Of Bodom, Raunchy and In Flames have left their distinctive marks. "Mozaiq" may be a progression for the band but the quality level is still not as high as that of their mentors. Having said that, Thrash bombs, like "Energy blast" and "Pitch black room" are really impressive. Especially the latter has some simple, but effective effects in store that develop some longtime effect. Blood Stain Child don't convince with innovation but with a lot of heartblood. Worth mentioning, by the way, is the fact that the Asian influences of the former releases have practically been eliminated.
