by Jürgen Tschamler (10.04.2007) As the title imposes, "Monster Of Death" is the ultimate extreme music compilation. What can be found on two DVDs here is just massive power. 42 bold clips from the dark side of Metal. Everything there is among the big names can be found, here, and even the best newcomers are being featured, too. Either live- or studio-clips, but one thing is secure: a drumfire on the brain-curves and some heavy extremes - sonically and visually. Death, Obituary, Amon Amarth, Morbid Angel, Carcass, Entombed, Atheist, Impious, Deicide, Kataklysm, Vader, Rotten Sound, Disbelief, Cannibal Corpse, Immolation - to name but a few. Already Vol. 1 was a concentrated force in Black Metal but Vol. 2 outlives that compilation in all terms. Hard to say what fascinates more - the mass of bands on this double DVD or the fact how impressively variable the sound behind the term Death Metal really is. Let the massacre begin!
