by Patrick Schmidt (07/99) Thank God for the Napalm Records label. Their next high-flyer Lacrimas Profundere convinces on the whole with "Memorandum". The music has to be categorized as melancholy doom metal equiped with influences from the gothic and death genre. Mourning guitars, acoustic interludes and a threatening atmosphere clearly mark parallels to Anathema's earlier pieces, which is supposed to be a compliment. The music is a solid unit, fluently presented and catchingly arranged. Two thumbs up for Lacrimas Profundere, a surprise of the month! (Patrick Schmidt)
