What a raw, bloody bastard Mnemic's first album is. The Danish quintet maltreats the listener with some brutal riffs, fat aggressive samples and some hateful vocals that make up a mix of Fear Factory, Meshuggah, Pro-Pain and Ministry. Heavy thrash elements are incorporated into the nu metal basic foundation, added by some progressive passages, too. Sounds weird but results in a murder sound! That, by the way, was provided by no less than Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Grope, etc...). Mnemic really go the extremely brutal way, and the album only contains killers. This is all but fast food for the ears, this can rather be called a massacre. None of the 9 tracks pulls down the quality of the album, the album's on the same high quality level all through. If the guys can hold this level up their competitors will have to face hard times. This monstrous hammer should be swallowed whole by all hate-devouring souls to get back their adrenaline.
