Vinyl lovers among the fans of Stray Cats can look forward to a special release in 2021: the live Album 'Stray Cats: Live At Rockpalast'.
When the Rockabilly trio emerged in their adopted home of England in the early 1980s, punk still dominated in the United Kingdom. However, Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom, and Lee Rocker brought something unique and conquered the charts.
During this time, some impressive concert recordings were made, two of which took place in Germany, specifically in 1981 at the Satory SΓ€le in Cologne and in 1983 at the Loreley. They were recorded by the WDR.
The two concerts show just how rapidly the career of the Stray Cats progressed. Between the two recordings, there were whole worlds. In 1981, they were young Rockers, but by 1983, they were bona fide Rock stars and were known in certain circles as tender teddy bears. The band Rocked the mixed audience with songs like 'Runaway Boys,' 'Rock This Town,' 'Stray Cat Strut,' 'The Race Is On,' and more. Bands such as U2, Joe Cocker, and Steve Miller also performed alongside Stray Cats.
