"Under lock and key" could have been the inspiration for the new Dokken album "Lightning strikes again". Indeed with Jon Levin as other guitarist than George Lynch, but sound technically songs like "Standing on the outside" and "Give me a reason" fit into the heyday of the band. Very strong - this is how comebacks are cool.

by Anne-K. Fricke (02.04.2008) With "Breaking the chains" and "Under lock and key", Don Dokken & Co have made themselves a lot of fans in the 80s. The latter could have served as the godfather for their new album, "Lightning strikes again". With Jon Levin, they have a new guitarist on board, but sonically, songs like "Standing on the outside" and "Give me a reason" could have been on the excellent "Under lock..."-album, too. Apt melodic is the album providing highest quality on all of the 12 songs. In "Disease", Dokken’s lead vocals have been defamiliarized so that this song is very different, and yet with a great aura, too. "How I miss your smile" is the obligatory ballad, while the following "Oasis" is based on a great riff stamping this song slowly and big. Also "Point of no return", "It means" and "Judgment day" rock greatly and it becomes clear that Don has approached a different way of singing. This is a great album that will see Dokken back on the list!
