by Anne-K. Fricke (13.06.2008) Grenouer are praised because of the sheer variety of tempos - at least that's what the info sheet to the album "Lifelong days" does (calling that polyrhythmicity - complicated word). Well, don't count your chicken before... But after some diligent listening, I stand corrected - the cd really convinces. You like a nice mix of rock, metal, hardcore, and beats? You'll get your fill with these eleven songs. Grenouer are without any doubt influenced by Fear Factory or Meshuggah, but they stand their ground with enough own originality. "Addicted to you" gets you with cool guitar effects and driving rhythms. "Taken off the list" is a bit slower, but yet equally intense. "With no concern" is the classic fast blast, whereas "Away from you" is construed considerably more complicated. Grenouer use almost classic metal riffs in "Finding the one" - and spice them up with electronic parts. Thus, the songs offer a lot of variety, but yet sound all of one piece: Grenouer have the experience to pull off such a production.
