by Tim Wölke (null) On his first solopiece Luca Turilli underlines his ingenious ideas and what an ambitioned composer's soul rests in his body. The head of the epic metalists Rhapsody broke free of all the chains of compromise he has to wrap around his compositions with Rhapsody since he always has to find somekind of compromise between his ideas and keyboarder Alex's suggestions. Hence "King..." is tight and compact. The songs have clear arrangements, great transparency and a high factor of resemblence. Apart from the single "The ancient forest of elves" the catchy "Legends of stel" and the Polka-like "Lord of the Wintersnow" stick out. Apart from Turilli the 3 Heavens Gate musicians Miro (k), Robert Hunecke (d) and Sascha Paeth (b, g) played on the album. The latter also produced the album. Apart from that 2 choirs sparkle bright, an operasinger and mainvocalist Olav Hayer (Treassure Seeker), I guess THE big discovery on the album. A great metal album which can easily keep up with the 2 Rhapsody releases.
