KYUSS, Slo Burn, Unida, Hermano, VISTA CHINO - wherever John Garcia was playing, it immediately turned to a success. The 43 year old imprinted his own stamp on these bands and thus established himself as the most distinctive voice of the whole Desert/Stoner Rock-scene. With VISTA CHINO Garcia makes music very close to his KYUSS-roots, on this solo album here he additionally ventures aalso some experiments - and convinces along the whole line. This album is filled with first class, very catchy Rock songs, that wobble equally between classic Hardrock and concise Stoner-elements. Once you get in touch with wonderful ear worms like ´My Mind´ or ´5000 Miles´, then this album spreads in your body like an infection - and one is willing to admit to the short and cracking riff-rockers ´Saddleback´ or the strongly rooted in Blues ´Confusion´. Or to the ultra-smooth chucker-out ´Her Bullets Energy´ on which the legendary Robby Krieger (The Doors) can be heard on guitar. John Garcia delivered here a multifaceted and downright intensive solo album, which will raise more dust than a sand storm in the Californian desert. The fact that Danko Jones, the Dwarves-warriors Tom Brayton and Mark Diamond as well as Garcias old Kyuss-side kick Oliveri appear as guest musicians here, even appreciates the whole more. The self-titled album "John Garcia" comes as limited black LP.
