by Sonja Angerer (04.10.2006) After their statistics of success of solved cases, documented on their "Best of"-album, Soko Friedhof on their fifth regular album, "Jesussaft", further investigate in satanism, madness and other human precipices. Formed as the counterpart for the duo, Untoten, David A. Lines' solo project enjoys cult status meanwhile. With morbid and quite clear lyrics, Soko Friedhof plays the claviature of provocation as usual: humour and satire, so black that Poe's raven appears like a bird of paradise, so corrosive that hydrochloric acid appears like lemonade, they don't stop at their own scene either, as e.g. in "Grufties". The track comes along as a nursery rhyme with ingeniously dull rhythms, with organ sounds like Dr. Phibes on Amphetamines, a great combination of energetic EBM beats and technoid electro, added by defamiliarized movie samples and clearly pointing towards the dancefloor. Deep sad ballads like "Die Liebe kann schrei'n" are rather the surprising exception on "Jesussaft".
