by Markus Wosgien (21.09.2007) When Rage Against The Machine revolutionised the Rock scene in 1992 with their self-titled debut album, many copies were following and suddenly every newcomer thought it would be necessary to mix Metal with Rap, Funk and other styles. The Californians, (Hed) P.E. followed those footsteps and on their sixth album, "Insomnia", they now let their roots shine through. They easily mix everything they want grooving like hell and bursting with ideas and the will to experiment. HipHop, Hardcore, Ska, Punk, Reggae, Rock and Metal – there are no frontiers. They act so easily and self-secure that the spark soon comes across and you see yourself provided with cocktails and a big cigar dancing at an exotic beach bar in Jamaica. "Insomnia" is pure fun to listen to especially because each of the 14 tracks is a little piece of art in itself and no song is like any other.
