by Marcel Anders (04.04.2007) They are the superstars of the Emo scene, sell millions of records and garnish the titles of all music magazines. The result of a true workaholic attitude. Because the mid-twens from Wilmette (near Chicago) have recorded no less than four records last year and did everything to get forward. Only to dare a huge step beyond now: away from Emocore. And to distance themselves from it every means will do for them, so it seems. Beginning in the production via a Jay-Z intro to the memorable bombast rock indulging itself in strings, synths and Neo-Soul. In times, you feel reminded of Maroon 5, that's how phat these 14 songs sometimes are. Even a silk piano ballad and a Leonard Cohen-tribute are being featured, the guys know no mercy. Really heavy sounds are rare - which doesn't stop the album from being successful: in America, it went pole position in the Billboard Charts and also in Germany it is the bestseller in Modern Rock.
