For over 20 years, singer/guitarist Michael Poulsen has been spearheading the Danish rock 'n' roll machine Volbeat, releasing eight albums, selling millions of records, and filling stadiums all over the world. However, before Poulsen became the frontman of Volbeat, he founded the death metal band Dominus, which recorded four fast and brutal albums in the mid-90s. As Poulsen was compiling songs for Volbeat's 2021 album 'Servant of the Mind,' he wrote a series of death metal riffs and saved them on his hard drive. Then, when he finished the Volbeat record, he opened the rusty gates to Armageddon once again and started assembling songs for his new death metal band Asinhell, titled their debut album 'Impii Hora' (Latin for Ungodly Hour). The songs are rooted in hard-hitting riffs but are filled with strong guitar hooks and shout-along refrains.
