6.Interview with Blind Guardian
by Heiner Salomon (July 2004) Finally: Blind Guardian's visual happening, "Imaginations through the looking glass" contains everything the fan expected. The first DVD of theirs contains a recording of the Blind Guardian Festival 2003 in Coburg, that the band organised and headlined on both days. By the aid of 12 (!!!) cameras used on both nights it becomes clear which enormous class this band has on live gigs and how like no other band the band understands to integrate their fans in their shows. The choice of songs reaches from classics, such as "Valhalla", "Lord of the rings" and "The bard's song" to new songs, like "Punishment divine" or "And then there was silence"; all that in Dolby Digital 5.1 sound! A present for all fans the is DVD 2, featuring many more live songs, such as "Majesty" of Wacken 2002, extensive interviews, backstage material and a documentation of the Coburg Festival 2003. Compliment to the band: you can see how much heartblood went into "Imaginations through the looking glass".
