by Matthias Mader (11.07.2006) The new album of the American metal core shooting stars begins with a really traditional heavy metal instrumental strangely called "Big bear and the hour of chaosβ. Well, this can be filed under a trial to get us wrong because already with the following "Bled dryβ, the picture is being put right again: Unearth light a true riff fireworks that degrades Slayer's "Hell awaitsβ-album a doom classic. The hell-like fast pace claims for highest skills of the guitar fraction. All Unearth musicians are masters on their instruments and where other bands threaten to fall into gooey grindcore morasses at this pace, they always keep control of what they're performing. It cannot be excluded that producer legend, Terry Date had some input in bringing this band onto the next level. Because with "Sanctity of brothersβ or "So it goesβ, Unearth show (and that is new) that they are well capable of writing songs with a more melodic approach, too.
